Do I need previous martial arts experience to learn F.I.G.H.T.?
No. The system is based on tactics taught in the Israeli Military. Israel has a mandatory military service requirement therefore its military must teach all Israeli civilians to be effective combatants quickly regardless of their background. You get the benefit of a system designed to teach average people (both men and women) to protect themselves against opponents who are trying to violently assault or kill them.

F.I.G.H.T is about preparing to protect your life and the lives of your loved ones. At some point everyone gets life insurance to provide security after they die. F.I.G.H.T. is inexpensive insurance to keep you alive. Make the investment in time and money for the best protection available.

How is Haganah used by F.I.G.H.T different than other martial arts systems out there today?
Haganah is not a sport based system modified to deal with self-defense situations. Haganah is a self-defense system built from the ground up and tested in combat. Haganah integrates unarmed and armed combat, including gun and knife use, from many different sources to create practitioners capable or dealing with any type of self-defense situation. It combines elements in unique ways to create new approaches. Although common attack scenarios are covered in Haganah, Haganah is not a scenario based system per se. It focuses on achieving certain common objectives in virtually all scenarios, thereby making it easier to learn and more immediately effective than many systems. Finally, unlike many other self-defense systems, Haganah does not use a hierarchical belt system where it can take years to learn the most effective advanced material. It uses a rotation system where substantially all hand-to-hand combat material is presented within three to four months. Only one belt can be achieved- Black Belt- in recognition of an expert practitioner.

Do I need to purchase the F.I.G.H.T. video series before I take a seminar or attend a local class?
Yes. It is important that you are familiar with the techniques before attending a seminar or classes to maximize your benefit from in person training. Additionally we have found that outside of class students find the ability to use the DVDs/Videos and manual to review and practice techniques invaluable.

How can I find a local F.I.G.H.T instructor?
You can begin to develop deployable self-defense skills through the video series. Currently intensive in person training and intensive multi-day seminars are conducted at our Weston, Florida (just outside of Ft. Lauderdale) national training center and we periodically offer one day sessions in cities throughout the U.S. However we are currently certifying additional locations to teach the F.I.G.H.T program.

No, however you do need to purchase the DVDs/videos appropriate to the multi-day seminar you intend to take. The seminars (broken link) are a phenomenal learning experience and we have yet to have a single person question their value. Although not required to learn the system, we encourage you to take seminars if at all possible.

What exactly is a seminar like?
It’s like playing in the most important game of your life and winning. It’s a confidence and skill building experience that will leave you tired from all of the hands-on training but pumped up and wanting more. You’re training personally with people who are experts in self-defense—not just through their own formal training but through the experience of fighting for their own lives. You will know what it takes to win a life and death encounter when you leave the seminar.
